your favorite restaurants along mosel and rhien
I am going back to this area and will hope to make an effort to go to any really special/view of food/location restaurant you remember as a highlight of the area.
in the past i just ate "whereever", but we will be two coulpes this time, and it merits a bit more planning! I have seen one called "annsmannhausen" or something like that near Rudesheim.. my notes are not with me.. but something along that order. I promise to post when we return. thanks. |
The town is called Assmannshausen.
Here are two of the best restaurants in the area: http://www.burg-schwarzenstein.de/index-279-2.html http://www.johannlafer.de/stromburg/...s/le-val-d-or/ If you want to do some research on your own: www.viamichelin.de enter Assmannshausen and tick "Restaurants", click on "Suchen" |
very nice links. thank you so much.
i wouldnīt mind a step down in price.. but i am happy to look into these places.. thanks again. |
Hotel Haus Lipmann has a very nice restaurant in Beilstein right on the Mosel River. You can dine indoors or outdoors.

We ate here in Cochem and had a balcony table overlooking the Mosel River. Excellant food and the Chanterelle cream soup is to die for.

please..."here" in cochem.. where?

I'm sorry but the link got lost. Here it is again.

Another vote for Hotel Haus Lipmann--both the restaurant and the hotel. The beautiful Burg Eltz (castle) is not far away and is worth a visit.

we did enjoy a plate of asparragus and beer/wine on the lovely haus lippman terrace, thank you.
i had been in this town twice before and not eaten here. we just needed a snack to tide us over and it was perfect. nice view and lovely terrace. we also looked into johan laferīs restaurant but we were not going to be in the area when we could get a table. will plan that one later. we had a fabulous meal at another beautiful place on the mosel. i am having difficulty deciphering "which" Moselblick hotel and restaurant it is. I will speak to our travel buddies as i accidentally threw out my pamphlet. this modern looking hotel, on the righthand side of the highway going up towards Koblenz was a very well decorated upscale hotel and restaurant. they had a daily menu for 29 euros without wine. it was fabulous. when i get the exact location i will post it. we also enjoyed a sour cherry tart with a delcious cookie type crust and vanilla ice cream on the terrace of the hotel krone in assmanhausen. what a place inside, too. http://www.hotel-krone.com/ also had a wine stop at http://www.schloss-johannisberg.com/ this is very close to rudesheim.. if you have a car it is about 5 minutes uphill. thanks for the suggestions.. all your input was appreciated. |
