Your favorite photo/coffee book of London, Zermatt, Venice...

Hi all

I'm trying to find a few gifts for some friends. I think they'd enjoy big photo books of the above. Are there any you've seen which just blow you away? I can easily find any old book, but, I was wondering if anyone had seen anything special in their wanderings. I'd prefer to be able to either go to B&N or Borders or even Amazon if possible - no plans to travel to buy these books! (although of course I'd prefer to use this as an excuse to go back to each of the above...)

thank you!

Francesco da Mosto's coffee table book on Venice has gorgeous photos. He is a Venetian count with a droll sense of humor. Some say his writings are a bit trite, but nobody complains about the photos! We also have his just published coffee table book of Italy, also full of knockout photos. Both books are companions to BBC series, although I don't think you can get the Italy book in the U.S. yet.

Right, I should always tinyurl those Amazon listings:

One book we leave out for ourselves as well as guests is "Over Europe". The ISBN is 01-892374-63-3.

Much more focused "Churches and Cathedrals of London" is a treat for a London lover. ISBN is 0-658-01724-7.

Thank you Btilke and Jsmith!

How do you "tiny URL" something? I've seen it a lot but never heard of it.
