No, the problem was that Berlusconi wasn't referring to Schroeder. Excuse me for worrying about the facts.

It is my understanding that he was referring to Schroeder. Either way it is still amusing true to Italian fashion.

I agree with you Calamari. He was responding to a rude remark made to him, I can't find the remark now but when this first happened it was reported more fairly.
One certainly can't compare Italian humor and off handed remarks to German humor.

Just a reminder, we're not supposed to post copyrighted material (like the NYT/Reuters story) here...it could get the whole message pulled.

Actually, most message boards allow for copyrighted material as long as the correct credit is given. Most people will just post a link to the story and then you have no worries.

Fodor's official policy for their travel boards: All postings must be your own words (i.e., no cutting and pasting of copyrighted material).
What other message boards allow is one thing; copyright law is another. Most publishers/authors rightly believe it is *not* ok to publish their work without permission, even if a credit is given.
Whenever I sign a contract for an article, the copyright details are clearly spelled out (First North American rights if I can manage it).

P.S. Stefani resigned on Friday, under massive pressure from the italian tourist industry and even from within his own party, the truly wacko (and not funny) Lega Nord.
