Your fave sights in Florence?

What are your favorite sites to see in Florence, Italy?

If you had just 3 days in Florence, what would you most want to see? I have already taken note of the FODORS suggestions for a 3 day trip.

Santa Croce - the tombs of the famous
Galleria dell'Academia - Nothing like a date with David
Duomo Museum - I went twice in one trip

But, for a day or 1/2 day, go to Fiesole. I loved Fiesole. Take a bus and go!

I think it is the #8 (maybe #7) city bus which will take you to Fiesole, where you can sit on a hill in a sidewalk cafe and look down over all of Florence, with a beautiful view of the Duomo, etc. The town itself is worth visiting for its monastery and its archealogical (sp?) digs. It only takes an hour or two altogether and gives you a whole new perspective of Florence.

birthday,

Certainly all of the above..and if you are anywhere near the Uffizi, stop at the church of Santa Felicita..very close by..simple exterior, beautiful interior with my favorite painting in Florence..the Deposition by Pontormo..this is really an amazing piece...if you go, be sure to light it..it is breathtaking and memorable...

The Church of San Maniato al Monte, behind Piazalle Michelangelo. The view from the church is wonderful. If you visit at 5:30 in the summer (4:30 in the winter) you can listen to Benedictine monks sing Gregorian Chants during late-afternoon vespers.

Don't miss the Baptistry. That ceiling of 13th C mosaics is amazing. (Note when I was there in Sept, there was a very long line a little before noon. I waited until late afternoon and only waited about ten minutes.)
