those maltese milk shakes can be very refreshing, though I prefer a
frozen bichon frappe

GreenDragon Jun 16th, 2005 10:34 AM

Wouldn't that make it a frap-bichon-io?

elaine Jun 17th, 2005 07:37 AM

with coffee in it, I think it's called a frappoochino

GreenDragon Jun 20th, 2005 06:40 AM

So, would you be stirring that with a milkbone for flavor?

Scarlett Jun 20th, 2005 06:42 AM

If you want an extra special crispy treat with that frappoochino, have a nice crunchy Pigs Ear to go with it.
Pup swears by them :@)

GreenDragon Jun 20th, 2005 06:44 AM

I think he's swine-dling you :P

elaine Jun 20th, 2005 11:38 AM

oh that joke is so good it's to dine for!

GreenDragon Jun 22nd, 2005 06:38 AM

I think you're just trying to 'sow' dissent in this thread. I'm bacon you to stop! :P

elaine Jun 22nd, 2005 06:47 AM

Oh, stop hamming it up!

Patrick Jun 22nd, 2005 06:54 AM

I love Yorkie pudding, but only if it was made from free-range Yorkies. Among my other favorite treats:

Tuna-poodle casserole
Collie-flower au gratin
Chocolate Maltesed Milk Shakes
Cockapoo au vin
Chinese Springer rolls
German Shepherd's Pie
and Bichon Frise salad

and frankly, I'd never put cream cheese on a beagle. I prefer them simply and lightly toasted. And they go especially well with Smoked Samoyed.

PatrickLondon Jun 22nd, 2005 06:57 AM

Terrier-misu?

or, of course, for English readers of a certain age, Roobarb crumble.

Patrick Jun 22nd, 2005 10:11 AM

It's raining cats and dogs here in Florida. It's making me so hungry!

Patrick London, what's roobarb?

PalQ Jun 22nd, 2005 10:17 AM

At Speakers' corner one day - a fat very obese African origin guy from Nigeria was boasting that he doesn't work, the government, the dole pays for me, to infuriate his British listeners and then he pats his ample tummy and yells "Yorkshsire Pudding"

elaine Jun 22nd, 2005 11:35 AM

A fat obese African guy from Nigeria?
He must be very fat and very African indeed. :)

Patrick, I'm glad you asked PatrickL, I don't get the roobarb reference either.
(Rhubarb crumble, I do love, though I am not English).

The Bichon frise salad was inspired!

Patrick Jun 22nd, 2005 11:39 AM

I must apologize that I hadn't read through the full thread when I was making up my post. I hadn't seen the other references to German Shepherd's Pie or Maltese Milk Shades when I came up with those. Just shows how great minds work alike.

elaine Jun 22nd, 2005 11:43 AM

This thread has been so entertaining, I'm so glad there have been
llhasa responses.

Dreamer2 Jun 22nd, 2005 11:49 AM

I smell a Muffin post... Is she relataed to DogLover?

alya Jun 22nd, 2005 11:53 AM

PatrickLondon

Don't you mean Roobarb and Custard?
I can't believe they're making a new series :-D

For the uninitiated it was an 80's animated childrens show shown on the BBC.

alya Jun 22nd, 2005 11:56 AM

BTW, I'm one of the few people who actually can't make a Yorkshire Pudding (the dogless version) even though I was born there :-(

GreenDragon Jun 24th, 2005 04:55 AM

Have you tried using the free-range yorkies??

PatrickLondon Jun 24th, 2005 07:52 AM

Ah but they melt.

I think we're back to the beginning again.

(BTW, Roobarb and Custard were a dog and cat, and very cute they were).

elaine Jun 24th, 2005 11:20 AM

I'm glad to read that even a native Brit has trouble making Yorkshire pudding, I tried making it once and got hot greasy lumps.

After this thread though, next time I will just go to my gourmet shop and ask for Yorkshire Poodlings. For wine, I'll look for Bordeau Terrier.

ira Jun 24th, 2005 11:49 AM

Hmmmm, yes.

Bordeaux Terrier and Pomeranian Reggiano cheese.

((I))

elaine Jun 25th, 2005 05:24 PM

ira, I love that cheese grated over a plate of pettuccine.

cmt Jun 25th, 2005 05:52 PM

Worktowander Jun 26th, 2005 12:15 AM

Can't believe you all are laying off the MUTTon chops!

cmt Jun 26th, 2005 06:48 AM

DOGgone it, we forgot them.

cmt Jun 26th, 2005 07:04 AM

Off-topic but fun: http://www.gone2thedogs.com/ Click on the link on right side "WHAT DOG ARE YOU" and take the quiz. If it doesn't work, try again later.

ira Jun 26th, 2005 07:44 AM

That was neat, cmt.

I am a Saluki.

((I))

cmt Jun 26th, 2005 08:54 AM

A few months ago when I first saw this site, the answer I kept getting, even if I changed one response, was Portuguese water dog. Seems like a nice dog. This time I must've changed something else, becaue I got Shetland sheep dog. I like them. (My favorites are mutts, though.)

L84SKY Jun 26th, 2005 10:29 AM

Thanks cmt,
I'm an Austrailian Cattle Dog. One of my favorite breeds.

dsm22 Jun 26th, 2005 11:47 AM

I am a french bulldog, I am not sure that is a good thing. Sort of TICKS me off. Doesn't sound all that FLEASable.

smalti Jun 26th, 2005 02:49 PM

Is Yorkie-shire pudding better if you make it with whole-Wheaton flour?

alya Jun 26th, 2005 08:56 PM

elaine,

I know, It looks and sounds easy - my mother makes the lightest Yorkshire Puddings but mine are as flat as pancakes, not good for someone born in Yorkshire :-(

It was never really an issue in England where you can buy frozen yorkshire puddings in any store and pass them off as 'homemade' :-D

Mom is visiting next February, wonder I can get her to cook a batch and try to freeze them?

Tiff Jun 26th, 2005 09:22 PM

That was hysterical cmt (or it just could be late for me, lol)

I was a Basenji. Stated I would never have a doggy smell (that was the part that made me laugh).

((&))

alya Jun 26th, 2005 10:55 PM

Ok, as a dog lover I had to take the test- I'm a KEESHOND, never heard of the breed but it looks cute.

ira Jun 27th, 2005 03:23 AM

A nice slab of Kasehound goes well with Bordeaux collie.

Tulips Jun 27th, 2005 04:28 AM

That's great cmt! I'm an Italian Greyhound; apparently the perfect pet, dainty and affectionate. Sounds just like me.

Alya; a Keeshond is a Dutch dog.

Tiff Jun 27th, 2005 06:04 AM

lol, Ira
