Hello P_P :)

Although I can give no personal recommendation, the Grand Hotel National's "Restaurant Thai Lotus" may work for you.

http://www.national-luzern.ch/

Here is one review I found:
"Thai Lotus Meiner Meinung nach das beste Thai-Restaurant schweizweit! Absolut wunderbare Ambiente, Blick auf den Vierwaldstättersee und eine sensationelle Küche mit Suchtpotential! Spitzenklasse! 21. März 2002"

(Online translation: "Thai Lotus in my opinion the best Thai restaurant Switzerland far! Absolutely marvelous ambience, view of the Vierwaldstättersee and a sensational kitchen with craze potential! Top class! 21. March 2002")

So you are heading back to Switzerland again? Lucky you!

Happy travels!

So nice to see you again, PP. I've missed your wit.

Maybe I will try the Grand National, as it is near my hotel.

I only stay on the lake in Luzern.

Thank you, Swandav.

A bit late in the game, but another vote for the Thai restaurant at the Grand National Hotel. The Italian restaurant is good too.
The GN is my favorite Luzern hotel and is worth its 5 star rating. I can't say the same for the nearby Schweizerhof, which needs a major overhaul.

Thanks, BT, for the reply.

Enjoy your stay!
FWIW, the Grand National's rack rates are high (450 francs a night and up), but they offer very good deals off season.
In February, I stayed there in a deluxe, lakefront room for 220 francs a night, less than half the rate for a standard room. It was wonderful to be out on my private balcony with a cappuccino and watch the sun come up over the lake and the snow-covered mountains.
