Yet another train question......

I am putting finishing touches on 26 day, 10 family member trip! We leave in one week and as official family tour operator ( and not professional by any stretch) I am attempting to purchase some of our train travel online. I have managed the website ok but I can't find any thing that tells me what age you are no longer a child? I have nieces and nephews ages 10,11,13 and 14. The passes which I decided did not save us anything were half price for the 2 youngest (I believe it was until 12.) does anyone know age restriction policy?
Planning this trip has been quite a challenge and I am in panic mode now. Thank you for your help again and again.....Kim

It would help to know what country/ies you're referring to.

Which web site? For the kind of details you seek I suggest contacting http://www.budgeteuropetravel.com/. Call Byron or Linda. They are in Ann Arbor and are very helpful. For an illustrated introduction to European trains in general see http://tinyurl.com/eym5b.

Are we by any chance talking about your upcoming trip to Italy since that was the country you most recently posted about?

Sorry forgot to tag Italy:(( yes I am trying to negotiate trentalia website.

If you are trying to buy for this summer, Trenitalia is running a promo and kids travel free (under age 15). You can only purchase five tickets at a time on their website so you would have to split the kids between two transactions if you need more than 5 tickets. It also depends on your routes. Slow regional trains don't have discounts and you don't want to buy those tickets in advance (more restrictions if you do).

Scroll halfway down for directions on how to book this. It would be for the faster trains (AV, IC).
