Yet another questions about the Globe
 

I've found a place to order tickets for the Globe but it appears that I've dallied too long and the only "seats" remaining are the ones in front labeled standing. Do people truly stand during the entire performance? Or do people bring blankets etc. and sit? I think I may order tickets either way, but it would be nice to know what to expect. Thanks.

Kristi, <BR>If the play is extremely popular as your choice is, be prepared not only to stand, but to stand shoulder to shoulder with other playgoers. That's how it was done in the 15th century!

Thanks Wes-its just as I suspected. Do we also get to throw rotten fruit and veggies? :-) <BR> <BR>I think we'll give it a go anyway.

I would try calling the Globe Theatre directly to check on ticket availability. There's a link to them through allthingsbritish.com. If you do purchase yard seats, be prepared to stand on concrete during the entire performance - and no I did not see anyone throwing rotten fruit during the performance I went to, which was over 2 1/2 hours long. <BR>Martha <BR> <BR>

Kristi, <BR>On our recent trip to London, I purchased tickets to the Comedy of Errors at the Globe before I left. I ordered pretty far in advance, or so I thought, and we still didn't have a huge pick. Definately call and see if they can help, I tried to order on line, got frustrated, and called and got much better than I saw on the UK Ticketmaster site. Also, they really do stand. My boyfriend and I felt sorry for some of them, as it was a BEAUTIFUL day and the sun was full force. Several people passed out. People in the stands where the sun hit were uncomfortable too. We got really lucky. The one nice thing about the GLobe is that there are really no bad seats, you can always see most of the play, but the pillars on the stage may block out your view sometimes. Thanks so much Martha and Bridget! UK Ticketmaster was showing only standing room tickets available but I called the Globe direct and they still had "excellent" seats available.
