Yet another question on rooms at the Santa Chiara.

Does anyone know the difference between the quad and the "suite" at the Santa Chiara? (Aside from the price.) I've stayed in double rooms there before and liked this hotel very much.

HI
I'm sure the hotel would be willing to explain it

We stayed in their 'quad' (the lower price one), March '01. Our setup was actually a 2 room suite with 1 bathroom. The main bedroom had a double bed and the bathroom was off this room. The other room had 2 twins. Each room had some closet and drawer space. I can't remember the room number but we were at the end of a hall, the main bedroom had a window facing the street. The other room had a sky light (no window). With the window open, there was some street noise at night (closed it was fine).

What they call the suite on the website (the pricier accommodation), is actually a more apartment like setup, with a kitchen area in addition to the living spaces. I think they may also have access to an outdoor, patio type space (but not sure). I haven't been in it, but a family of 5 was staying there when we were (it was a few doors down from our quad and faced inward).

Their common spaces are lovely, but the rooms are fairly generic. Their breakfast buffet is excellent and the location can't be beat. You can email the hotel with any questions you may have, they were very responsive.

Overall we were pleased with the accommodation, and my kids were happy to have their own beds and room.
