I have this vision of an envelope from Fodors with my name on it in a stack somewhere in a post office waiting for a postal worker to stamp it "contents destroyed."

Still hopeful

Pins have arrived in Ohio... got mine today... poked through the envelope, but pin intact. (Don't you imagine there are a lot of angry postal workers who've been getting their fingers jabbed the last few days?)

Don't worry Art, they probably haven't gotten to all us So. Calif. folks yet. I'm still hopeful.

I'm from the Bay Area and received mine today - sorry Art. I went out and bought a crispy suit in flourescent pink and big white tennis shoes to wear with it to Poland. I was going to buy a T-shirt that said "I'm with Stupid" but I don't think my travel companion would appreciate that, huh? Unless he asked to borrow it!!

Well Linda, enjoy your pin. I'm glad someone in the Bay Area received one. I'll be sitting out on the curb again tomorrow, I guess, waiting patiently for the mailman. I'm beginning to feel like Eeyore out here.

Disconsolate

Dear Disconsolate:

I will loan you my pin for a small fee if you are not traveling at the same time I am.

Thanks, Linda

A small fee? How small? I'm going to Europe for five week in October and early November. When are you going? I haven't lost all hope of getting an intact pin yet, so stay tuned.

I am now very seriously bummed. No pin, no empty envelope, nothing! AND since Monday is a holiday, there's no mail delivery until Tuesday. Aaak!

Art?

Poor little flying man - he was clinging for dear life to the inside of that envelope and was oh so close to being jettisoned through a gaping hole but the mail gods spared him. No wonder he has a red face.

Hi:
Well Mom got hers, alas I did not!
I hold no hope of receiving it be fore we leave for Amsterdam on Wednesday.
So, anyone traveling in Amsterdam next week, look for a very attractive older woman with her 40 something daughter...The Mom will have the pin on! Happy travels to all!

Well, Art, no pin for me in today's mail. I've given up hope. Good luck.

Hey, I'd gladly sell the stupid thing. How about $100? or $10,000 Canadian?

Got mine in Florida yesterday!!!
(With the mandatory hole in the envelope, but otherwise unperturbed)

Actually, I thought it was quite decent looking, and moreover, a very nice gesture from Fodors to do this.

I'm not sure what some of you discontents were expecting...gold with lapis inlay, perhaps? Get real.
