Has anyone gone to Eastern Europe recently and used either an ATM or Visa card, expiration date '00' or 01'? Any problems? Wonderful info on this site. thank you all. E.

Can't help you much other than to say that my ATM card expiration date 07/99 works great in Prague, no problem.

I recently have had some trouble with my 00 date in the US!! It all depends on whether the place you are trying to use it has a card scanning system that is relatively new, or if it has been updated with a new chip that can handle 00. I am leaving for France in 2 weeks and have requested a new card with a 99 expiration date just as a precaution. I'm not saying any European countries are backward or behind, I just want to be sure my trip is as problem-free as possible!
