yeah or nay on Naples
My wife and I are taking my in-laws will be staying in Sorrento for three nights and a full day. My wife has been reading alot about Naples and is now concerned with safety. Is there much to experience in Naples or should we just by-pass it?
all information is appreciated. Dan |
I spent four weeks in Italy and Naples was my absolute favorite locale. It was everything i expected Italy to be - vibrant, chaotic, warm, friendly people, passionate couples.
the food was the best i had in italy, especially the pizza slices on every corner, each better than the last. The architecture and city layout is dazzling - decaying palazzos, the Castel Nuovo, and all the alleyways of Spaccanapoli. |
Don't miss the Museum!

I agree! We were also warned and scared to death about Naples . . . we decided to go anyway (we're that kinda girls), we only had one day and were sick that we hadn't allotted several.
The museum is great . . . a lot of the treasures and really nice murals, mosaics, statues from Pompeii are there . . . the food is the best, we did find that crossing the streets was a challenge but we LOVED Naples . . . it's really so what you think you'll find when you go to Italy. When we return to Italy, Naples will definately be on the schedule! Go and enjoy! Sandy |
The topic of Naples usually creates a great deal of debate on this board.
We enjoyed our visit there. The area along the waterfront is very lovely and I would recommend staying there. We stayed at the Hotel Miramare and found it to be very charming. There are quite a few nice hotels in the area. |
WOW! Its so refreshing to read about people who've give Naples an objective chance and have loved it.
Ditto for my wife and I. |
