Hello All,

I am trying to use the website www.voyages-sncf.com but it is all in french. Is there a way to see the site in English? Hope you all can help..trying to book a train from Paris to Biarritz!

Look down the bottom left of the screen and click on the British flag.

I just tried that and when I click on the British flag it directs me to a raileurope site with much higher prices. any suggestions?

It takes me to the tgv-europe site not rail europe. I checked both French and English and the prices were same for me. But I have to admit I have not yet gone through with my booking because I am still deciding about specific dates.

Hopefully someone else will weigh in with advice.

Your best bet is probably to try to cope with the French - a lot of it is pretty obvious, and you can run the tough bits through babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt. The earlier you can book the better, as the cheaper Prems fares are limited.

Much (not all) of what is found on www.voyages-sncf.com is also on tgv-europe including PREM fares. If there is a county choice when using tgv-com select UK not USA as doing so will definitely send you to rail Europe (and higher prices).

Greer - I just used www.tgv-europe.com. I said I lived in Great Britain which provides the site in English. Do not choose USA as that will direct you to the Rail Europe site where the tickets seem to be more expensive. I left the country as Great Britain and choose to pick my tickets up at the train station.

I just used www.voyages-sncf.com and Great Britain as my country(because there was NO option for the US). Searched for trains from PARIS to DIJON Aug 28. I only received info on "ter" trains out of Paris Bercy. Don't I want TGV trains out of Nord or Lyon? Is it too early to do so? Can I print tickets at home if I use Great Britain as my counrty

Go to www.seat61.com. He is a Brit who explains for everyone how to purchase the tickets in French. We are US people, speak barely any French and purchased the tickets using his directions. We saved tons of money, got to print the tickets at home, ended up with reserved seats and more train time options. Good luck.
