www.thefrenchwillneverforget.com

A self-explanatory site perhaps of interest to anyone going to D-Day beaches in Normandy.

kerouac Aug 8th, 2007 09:27 AM

It looks like those particular French have forgotten that Americans were not alone on the D-Day beaches.

It's a good thing that the US and other countries continue to bail France out of it's problems. It's been going on for over 200 years and appears that there is no end in sight.

Enjoy your French food and wine. It's about the only thing that France has contributed to the world in a very long time.

Thank you for that totally edifying glimpse of your geopolitical knowledge. It will come in handy if you make any comments on other subjects.

Curious has gotta be trolling - the dread Fodor word as no one with any semblance of rationality would never make such a statement.

Let's see the French helped us win our independence or am i dreaming that?

Last i knew France was about the fourth or fifth leading industrial nation, etc. Didn't know they were going down the tubes.

They have also forgotten that WWII ended in August 45, celebrating the fact each May.

Pvoyageuse Aug 8th, 2007 11:25 AM

We celebrate the end of the war in Europe on May 8, not the end of WW2.

waring Aug 8th, 2007 11:31 AM

Why would celebrate the end of a bit of the war and forget the end of all it?

My grandpa was in the far East until the end and this bugs me every year.

kerouac Aug 8th, 2007 11:44 AM

Probably, when you've been through things like the "100 Years War" it's all relative.

Pvoyageuse Aug 8th, 2007 11:51 AM

Why would celebrate the end of a bit of the war and forget the end of all it?

Probably for the same reason you forget began in 1939 for us.

Pvoyageuse Aug 8th, 2007 11:52 AM

sorry : it should read :" probably for the same reason WAR began in 1939 for us".
