With weather uncertainties I am flying to ATL on Monday and spending the night and will then catch my Tuesday evening flight to Paris. Delta was, surprisingly, very accommodating with the change. Have a Marriott/Fairfield hotel with free shuttle both directions and free breakfast.

The weather now looks like it would have been OK, but glad I made the change.

Taking Noelle to Just Cats today and will be set to go tomorrow!

Have many plans in mind...

a bientot..
Joan

This is great. I always enjoy your reports and they will be especially welcome during this wintry period we are all experiencing as we are spending a lot more time in the house and by the computer than normal.

Happy trip.

I finally made it to Paris, after the nighmare of Atlanta. Afraid Atlanta is not my favorite place at the moment! Will not go into the details, but Atlanta screwed up in everyt possible way with the weather!!

My flight turned out great as more thatn 50% were not able to make the flight. That meant we all had rows to stretch out in! Also had big tails winds that took 1 1/2 hours off flight. My driver was right there to meet me..thought I might be waitin, arriving so early. My bag was in sight upon arival at baggage claim, too!

Got to apartment, logged in and all set up. Went to lunch at Cafe Constant, saw and chatted with Christian, added 2 months to my Paris little red phone, called re my lunch reservation on Friday at Belhara, did some laundry, and that did it!!

a bientot...

Still have my annual request....please tell us what food you are photographing! Love the photos but often (and could well be my lack of sophistication) I have no idea what it is.

Judy - I take food photos hoping to remember and by the time I look again I draw a blank - and I actually ate the darn stuff. Unless it's Italian, that's usually pretty easy. I have to take photos of the menu next time.

Hi Joan,
Welcome back! You have been missed. I am looking forward to reading about your adventures in Paris, especially since I have been suffering withdrawal from my addiction to Denise's reports on her Christmas trip. I will be in Paris in June and am wondering how far ahead I should make restaurant reservations. You were so helpful to me a few years ago in making some wonderful recommendations for dining solo. Brunch at the Hotel Crillon was particularly memorable.

I slept late. Went down and had early croissantes and cafe creme, did a bit of grocery shopping (not much..I don't cook, cme home and made some reservations for SAt/Sun/Mon/Tues. I went to lunch at Belhara.had been there for early xmas dinner with Florent and Michael in early Dec...first for all of us and they then made reservations for when Denise and Chaz would be there. We had not tried for lunch, so I had a lunch reservations for today. Good lunch.Notice some really good looking things by close by people for all of you you do eat things that walk on 4 legs!

I then went by Florent's and we visited. I had forgotten that Michael helped him on Fridays now...so got to see them both and take a photo of Michael with his kitchen duties. I think Florent is a slave driver with him..low pay,no perks and cannot come into dining room! Meeting them this evening about 7 at Catherine's (Reed) for a glass of wine and visit. I do want to invite Catherine to join me at Violon on Monday (she is closed). That will be nice.

When I stopped by Violon this morning the gal recognized me and called me by name. Then I told her I would be here for 2 months she replied that I could dine there every day!!

Weather sunny today..a bit chilly, but it is winter!

Cafe Constant for lunch yesterday...duck and potatoe pie, is what it was called:http://s6.postimg.org/erfqr1a69/000_0001.jpg

Bistrot Belhara lunch today and then Michael with kitchen duties at Flirt The. I had foie gras and St Jacques and Chablis wine

Hi Sharon,

I would make them the month ahead...does not hurt to be early, and the only way for some higher end places! Be sure to re-confirm upon arrival. Some will only take by phone anymore due to those who book and do not show.

I miss the Crillon L'Obe and also the Ritz. I think thr L'Obe space will be a pool.

a bientot...

Joan

Hi Joan,
Thanks for the advice re reservations. Now I will be following your wining and
dining adventures with a special interest. Those scallops look divine. In fact,
so do the other items. Thanks for posting. It's fun to follow along.
