Wroclaw to Krakow by train

Hi!

I'm going to Wroclaw (Poland) next month, and I am wanting to incorporate a trip to Krakow also. Are there trains between the two cities?

Also, I will be arriving at Wroclaw at 9.30 on a Sunday evening. What is the best way to get from Wroclaw airport to the city centre at that time on a Sunday? Are there trains/buses?

Thanks in advance!
Elis :-)

Not sure bout the airport but there always are public buses if not trains - there is frequent train service between Wroclaw and Krakow - dirt-cheap just buy tickets once at train station - for lots on European trains check these informative sources: www.seat61.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com.

You can IME always get on trains so don't worry bout that but I'd pay a little extra for first class on those trains - significantly more relaxed ride - 2nd class can always be SRO - some trains may only have 2nd class however.

For future reference, pretty much every airport has a website with transport info. Google ( or in my case Duckduckgo) is your friend. Or your guidebook should have that info. If it doesn't you have the wrong guidebook.

Thanks for the responses! It sounds like its easy to get a train between the two cities, I'll take your advice and buy a ticket when I'm there :-) and thanks for the link to the airport, I think there should be a bus, or failing that taxis seem to be pretty cheap.

There are IC trains from Wroclaw Glowny (main station) to Krakow Glowny about every hour - and they have 1st and 2nd class and take about 3.5 hours - be sure to get on a direct train - other rail links require a change of trains in Katowice and take much longer.

There is a train. It is not very expensive, so we purchased a first class ticket at the last minute, not knowing if second class would be full. It was an old fashioned compartment, somewhat worse for wear.
