Wow, great hotel deal in London!

I just saw this while browsing... nice deal, the rooms look nice... anyone been there?

WE REPEAT THE STRONGEST US DOLLAR EVER - $1 = £1

This offer was so popular it will be repeated this year and we do not think you can stretch your dollar further anywhere in quality London accommodation.

"Starting 27 December 2002 thru March 2003, guests may settle hotel accounts in either US dollars cash or travellers checks only, at the incredible exchange rate of
$1.00 US DOLLAR = £1.00 UK POUND

It's simple! Make your reservations as normal to stay during the above period. As with any of our offers, there are no restrictions and no 'small print' to search for. This offer is available to all our guests. Any day. Any room. Any suite. Any stay. Subject only to availability, so we do advise early booking. Our offer is not limited to your room charge but is offered for all hotel services charged to your bill (except cash advances or outside purchases made at your request).

Your reservations will be quoted in UK Pounds, but we will happily formally confirm your dollar rate ($1=£1) for payment of your bill. "

Just checked it out. What an overpriced hotel. Obviously their business is all US, not Brits, so they jack the prices way up in pounds so that it sounds like you're getting a bargain. I'd never think of paying those prices for this dump.

My husband Walter and I stayed at thIs hotel on our trip to London In March.
We both thought the room was spacious and well decorated.
However, after a few hours in the romm we began to notice a "strange" odor coming from the bed.
Walter flipped the mattress to uncover the source of the bad smell. Much to our surprise, there was a dead hooker lodged in the box springs!
Walter complained to the the management until he was blue in the face. Finally they gave us a new set of sheets and a very nice bottle of Croatian champagne.

Once again the xxx readers come up with an ill informed comment.
London Elizabeth has mixed reviews - as depending on rooms you get you either really like it or hate it. For the area it is good -we checked out about 15 hotels nearby. As a general comment London is expensive. I stayed in a suite -very good value at 148 quid. Hotel bar offered fantastic value - cheaper than a pub, room service no extra. Breakfast was dreadful - cheapest quality bread and jams. But beware of rooms overlooking Bayswater Rd - horrendously busy with lots of double decker buses slowing to take the corner. And some of the plumbing is not very good - given English plumbing is generally of a low standard (the bane of expats), lots of places suffer the same problems.

Dead hooker - I only know the word hooker meaning a prostitute or a particular position in rugby- so Christy, perhaps you should not be taking the comment too seriously and look to the serious comments and look at rants & raves. The offer frankly sounds pretty good value albeit with the risk of room - for the price go for a suite. Or does hooker mean something else to Americans?

Nope, the only think I can think of is a prostitute.... I pretty much took that as a troll post, anyhow.
