would you stay in Invergarry on your way to Oban?
I'm planning a trip with my children ages 4 and 7 and we are going to drive from Edinburgh to Invergarry. I wanted this location for the main reason it wasn't too northwest and we could do a day trip to Loch ness( a must for the kids). We are then going to Oban so I'm wondering if it's worth the detour there or shall I stay near Urquhart castle ?

Invergarry is a nice wee town, and personally I would stay there rather than what I'm about to suggest.
If I had kids that age, I'd stay in Drumnadrochit (near Castle Urquhart) because it's set up for them. It's very touristy, but has nice things too.
I wouldn't do a day trip to Oban from there OR Invergarry. Is that what you're suggesting?
