Would you recommend Hotel Gasthof Glocke in Rothenburg?

I'm considering staying at Hotel Gasthof Glocke in Rothenburg. I can only find one review of it at tripadvisor.com. Has anyone stayed there or know anything about the place? Rick Steves recommends it, and I like what I've seen online. Thanks!!

I would recommend you look at Gasthof goldener Greifen. We enjoyed this place in the late 90s, and it has gotten some good reviews on this board since then.

Big rooms. Good breakfast. Nice people. Great comforters!!! Remember, though, that the place was built in the late 1300s, so if you are 6 feet or over, watch those door jams after a few schnapps.

I've stayed at the Hotel Gasthof Glocke three times over the past ten years, and I liked it very much. The rooms are quite charming, and the place is definitely individual, not a cookie cutter type of place.

The restaurant was also quite good.

I'd recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.

I stayed at Gasthof Goldener Greifen in February 2005 and loved it. I enjoyed the restaurant at Glocke but did not look into their hotel

In another post, I just recommended staying with an older couple, Karin and Hans (http://www.haus-karin.de/) who open up their home to tourists and live within a 5-minute walk maximum outside of the wall. They charge around 22 Euro/person including a full breakfast which is GREAT. Such a neat experience to stay with them...Karin is hilarious, friendly, and speaks great English. Even offers free beer and water.

We stayed at the Kloster-Stuble in May and absolutely loved our room and the fabulous breakfast spread. Rothenburg is full of good hotels that get great ratings on this board, so I'm sure you will be fine.
