True! I'm sure we could do a lot worse than 110 euro during Oktoberfest. I promise not to waste any file there. haha

Munich is a fabulous city for bike riding. They have really great bike paths and bike lanes. In the cross walks, there is even a side for bikes and a side for peds. Really nice. The only time we actually rode in the street was on small side streets where cars weren't going fast anyway.

On the tour, we stopped at the Hofbrauhaus, the Residenz (royal palace), Odeonsplatz in front of a large monument and the Theatinerkirche (sp?), then rode through the Hofgarten, passed the parliment building (I think they are parliment buildings - the one with the glass wings with the rebuilt center part, if someone knows what the heck I am talking about, please set me straight - LOL), into the English Gardens for a float in the Eis River, a beer and lunch at the beer gardens, ride through the naked man meadow. After that we left the park and rode along the Isar river and back into the old town area. I am probably forgetting a couple things, but you get the idea.

I think it is a good choice for a short visit because you see a lot in a relatively short time.

That's the "Staatskanzlei", not the parliament. It's the seat of the Bavarian government. The Bavarian parliament is down the road at he Isar river. We lost the 2nd chamber of parliament (the Bavarian senate) a few years ago, since "they weren't doing any real work" ;-). I voted againt it, but it didn't help.

Was the same day in the 90ties we abolished death penalty and changed a few words in the national anthem (Don't know what was so bad about "german soil".) ;-)

Thanks logos - I knew I could count on you :)

Now if only my country could abolish the death penalty. I think the national anthem is ok - if only it weren't so darned difficult to sing. I wouldn't mind changing a few words of our pledge of allegiance though.
