bumbleb, in the InnerStadt, Cafe Schwarzenberg for an inside table; Kleines Cafe for a rare available outside table; Cafe Griensteidl when I want to watch people and horse carriages; Cafe Francais (because I like their warm baguette with roquefort and apples); and Beaulieu for any of their tartin, but especially the cherry and pistachio. The last place is a French bistro tucked into Palais Ferstel and not a traditional Viennese coffee house, however.
Not to add more to your agenda, but should you find yourself at Schönbrunn, a pause for a torte and coffee in their garden cafe is an altogether agreeable idea (even if they are part of the chain).
