Worth the trip?

I have been searching sites for airfare deals to Ireland and on Aerlingus they are offering $99 round trip deals per person until February. My questions are:
With the weather be too much of an annoyance that time of the year (bear in mind that I am from Boston so I know bad weather well). Should I wait and pay more for better weather?
Will the cold and weather negatively affect my abilities to see the best of Ireland? Should I wait and pay more to see the Emerald Isle when it is actually Emerald?
I dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth and pay six or seven times as much but if my trip and travel on the Isle will be limited I would appreciate some stories/ advice?
Thanks!

Ireland is worth the visit ANY time of the year! I would grab that offer while you can because it sounds too good to be true. Enjoy!!!

I could see how the deals seem worthwhile to some, but I think they are $99 each WAY ($198 roundtrip) and taxes bring it to about $265 total.

Best wishes,

Rex
It all depends on how far into Feb you can find flights.

Daylight hours are limited in Feb., but as far as weather - being from Boston you should be ok. May need to take extra time driving. ( bonus - not many tourists there at that time of year - less traffic on the roads...)

Are you hoping to "see it all" or base out of 1 or 2 spots and "soak it all in". A feb trip would lend itself more to soaking it in, but may also be a good taste of what to expect on a future trip.

My first trip was in November of 2000, and while it was a bit cool ( I'm from Wisconsin) and dark by 5, it was a great trip - not very crowded, and not too stressful. We are going back in April of 03, and are expecting more crowds but better weather/sunlight.

I would probably go in Feb, especially if budget is a concern, but I easily trade temperature for less crowds.

Debbie

Go for it! The weather in Ireland is never bad enough to keep me from grabbing a great price.

It will be warmer in Ireland in February than in Boston, which is nothing to sneeze at. Besides, you can always spend some quality time in the pub if the weather gets too bad.

It's never a bad time to go to Ireland. And it's always green there, just more green at certain times of the year.

Go. I've been there in December, February, and July. The only differences were the length of daylight hours, the temperature, the crowds at castles (there weren't any in Dec and Feb), and a lot of B&B's weren't open.
