Worth seeing Paris during a layover at CDG?

Hi everyone. Is it feasible/worth seeing the Eiffel Tower during a 4 hour layover at Charles De Gaulle? Arriving from Atlanta, going to Spain. Thanks!

4 hours is absolutely NOT longe enough to leave CDG, go into Paris and get back in time to clear security and make your flight.

should be " . . NOT long enough . . ."

I tried and missed my flight. I had to take a hotel and try to find a flight the next day. I lost two days of business trying to see Paris.

Hi A,

It takes about 45 min to get from the airport to Notre Dame in the RER.

Schedules are at www.ratp.fr

If you get out of CDG quickly, you will have about 40 min in Paris.

You can see the ET from almost anywhere.

Good luck.

the problem is security at CDG can be a mess. Plus landing is not the same as being inside the arrivals hall and heading to the RER station. It is often 30 mins or more before you even get to immigration.

ira's numbers are "accurate" but don't tell the whole story. 90 mins travel time, plus a few minutes wait for the train at either end, plus 30 mins from touchdown to arrivals/immigration, plus being back at CDG 90 mins before your flight - just not realistic.

I agree. You will not make your flight. Most likely, you'll have a lousy time trying to see the Eiffel and rushing back only to miss it.

Don't do this.
