World War II Sites
Where can I get info about WWII battle sites, memorials, cemetarys, etc?
|
What countries are you referring to Porky?
|
www.abmc.gov for info on American military cemeteries around the world.

DH has this book: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...1904&itm=2

If you search under my name you will find a ton of information as I am working on a similar project and put out a query and got so much wonderful and helpful material from people on this board...
I believe I used the words WWII and Holocaust in my heading... At some point in the near future I will put all the material into a better format - I just haven't had time yet. I will try to top my post so you can find it more easily. gruezi |
Okay Porky,
I moved my post up (look under WWII and Holocaust) and you will find so much great information on the thread - battle sites, memorials, books and DVDs and so much helpful advice... gruezi |
I don't know of any one best site. If you have some recollection of events in WWII then you can figure the areas (towns) of interest.
If you have any relatives that fought in the ETO, that might be an interesting trip. Obviously the D-Day invasion beaches offer some of the most popular destinations. |
As you are interested in Italy, this site may be useful. It's oriented to the Commonwealth forces, but there's much helpful general information.
