Work trip to Iceland! Need help resourcing

Hey guys!

I was planning a trip to Iceland by the end of May. I'm going there solely to get handicrafts, arts and crafts locally made in Iceland. I just needed some help as to which would be the best places to go and what towns I should visit. I was thinking to get things done within a week.
Please if anyone knows of place where I can buy in bulk and get authentic Icelandic stuff that would be great.

Thanks!

This isn't the place to ask.

Not that you can't, but it is almost certainly a waste of your time unless you hit some random person who is already a licensed importer of Icelandic goods who is willing to share her business contacts with a competitor for free.

Have you contacted the Iceland embassy or consulate to see who they recommend as a resource? Or tired the tourist office to see if they have lists of stores or government sponsored places that market handicrafts (almost all governments in europe have sponsored resources for local craftspeople.)

Thanks for the reply!

I don't expect anybody to share their business contacts but was just hoping to get a better insight as to where I could find arts and crafts for that purpose. Would it be okay to just visit the capital city or do the items vary with location?

I have spoken to quite a few tourist offices and experts. I will give the embassy a call tomorrow.

Thank you for your suggestions

Maybe the Iceland Chamber of Commerce can help you.

This is basically a vacation/travel related forum, which is why Ackislander said this isn't the place to ask.

Sorry about that!

But thank you! Will have a look
