Words they never taught me in high school French class

Does anyone know what the words are for "bathtub" and "hair dryer"?

Did you mean to say:
Ne laissez pas tomber le séchoir dans la baignoire, surtout quand vous y êtes assis(e) ! Et jamais quand elle est remplie d'eau ?

You could say:

Je voudrais avoir une chambre à l'étage supérieur, s'il vous plaît;
Je voudrais avoir une chambre au dernier étage s'il vous plaît; (on the top floor)
J'aimerais bien avoir une chambre à l'étage supérieur, s'il vous plaît;
J'aimerais bien avoir une chambre au dernier étage, s'il vous plaît. (on the top floor); or
Je voudrais avoir une chambre au tout dernier étage, s'il vous plaît.

That should do it.
Hey, Michele, we must both be making our reservations. Hope you don't mind my taking a free ride on your thread for one more:

How do you ask for a room that looks out over the street?

It would be better to say for a room with a view: "uen chambre avec vue" (although that does not necessarily imply you want a room with a street view&quot or "une chambre avec vue qui donne sur la rue" and NOT "une chambre avec vue de la rue." That's not correct but it was a good try!

Hi Lisa
Are you sure that you want a room that overlooks the street? They can be very noisy about 6:00 AM.

That's why it's very important to stay on a quiet street! Then, it doesn't matter. Facing the street might even be better than the interiour court from where you can hear other guests talking, etc. in their rooms, esp. with open windows.

Or smell the cigarettes from nearby rooms or the street below!
Another reason to always get an airconditioned room, so you don't have to leave the windows open in the event of such problems.
