Enjoy it, Audere! I just hope no one lights up onstage.

We thought the Led were dead and broke, this is why they need a concert.

Don,t count your chickens before they hatch. The site is to register and hope you get allocated tickets. I don't think it 100 % you will get tickets. I know it says register , tickets will be allocated by ballot and limmited to 2 per houshold, but I bet there be loads on ebay for silly prices.

Do you think you'll be able to stay out of the news this time?

Audere - £120? Ouch

Looks like I'll have to make do with the 'Whole Lotta Led' tribute down my way next month instead ...

Off to see 'Deeply Purple' this weekend

Anyone else in the 70's Nostalgia Club?

I'm envious David. Envious beyond measure. That was my band... it's a shame it can't be with John Bonham, but at least the guy got to go out like a rock star.

I think I spent half my life in a black Zepp t-shirt. The other half in a concert t from a Black Sabbath show (w/ Ozzy, thank you very much), but let's face it, it just wasn't the same. Don't know what they still let go on/in at concerts these days, but whatevet it is, do it once for me.

I am a traveler of both time and space. Now I'm feeling unfortunate that at that time, my space will be in Hong Kong. And I'd been looking forward to it until I started thinking it might be great to be in London instead. Have fun. Imagine what the concert "trip" report would have looked like in the early 70's.

Well it's the next morning and I'm still making excited little sqeaking noises.

If you want to go you will have to register on the site. Me? I don't have to. Am I connected to Led Zep and therefore get a backstage pass, a groupie and my own shark? No. I'm getting in because of my job.

As people have alluded to above - I am the council official who didn't fine Keith richards for smoking on stage. I made the Times of india for that - fame at last.

I won't fine Jimmy page either.

I am also going to see a lesbian zeppelin tribute band at the Astoria (which I do have to pay for) - the marvelously named Lez Zep.

Congratulations on your fame, David, I had no idea !

But would you have fined Mel Smith ? The guy did seem to behave like an absolute t*sser over his Edinburgh show, so i think I'd have fined him just for that.

I'm told there was a reggae Zeppelin covers band in the early 90s...Dread Zeppelin

BTW, "everybody knows (or should) that Woo Hoo! is one of the classic expressions of (American) Homer Simpson" ? Btilke, I'm afraid some of us have never watched the Simpsons. And surely the phrase was used before that ?

I won't fine anyone - I'm a big softie.

Dread zeppelin aren't just a reggae version of zep - they have an Elvis impersonator on lead vocals.

Wow, does life get any better ?!

Mind you, I was quite taken by Carole-off-Big-Brother's rendition of Stairway to Heaven.

And DH had to do the actions to it in support of his best man's speech

Anyone who admits to squeaking like a little girl deserves good things! and Led Zeppelin is a definite Good Thing...Theres a lady whos sure
All that glitters is gold
And shes buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and shes buying a stairway to heaven
.

Sorry...Have fun!! take illegal videos and share them with us!!

I would not doubt that Dukey was right - many English rockers become American citizens - perhaps Jimi is - lot less taxes, etc.

audere - i suspose you are going free - would you have paid $250 to see a faded metal band?

name me a British rockstar who has applied for yankee citizenship. If they want to avoid taxes they move to Ireland (where yopu can get proper beer and proper bacon)

I would have cut off a leg to get in. And "metal"; have you got tin ears?

I don't think £120 is a lot of money. I pay half that to watch spurs lose.

... and how can changing citizenship reduce your tax bill?

Changing residence can. But that's got nothing to do with citizenship.

Ozzie Osbourne says he's a citizen.

Heavy metal?

I'm sure at even twice that much for a ducat you'd get more lift out of it than if you paid 5 quid for a Spurs ticket

do they serve booze at the O2 concerts? Dumb question i guess

How many concert venues don't sell booze?

There are lots of bars both outside and inside the venue (it's a VERY big tent).

"Ozzie Osbourne says he's a citizen."

Well everyone's a citizen of somewhere. But if Pal Q thinks Osbourne's become a citizen of some foreign country, it'd be interesting to see the evidence for this.
