Wolverhampton - York - Durham - Edinburgh
Greetings,
I am making plans to celebrate my anniversary in July and would like to ask for suggestion on the route that I have planned. I'll be departing from Wolverhampton (from a family's home) to Edinburgh, Scotland and on my way, I plan to stop at York and Durham. Is this a good idea? |
Sure, it is a fine idea -- are you driving, or taking trains?
York, Durham and Edinburgh are all wonderful -- how many days do you have? |
Absolutely a good idea. Do you have time for a look at Hadrian's Wall from Durham?
|
Hello Janisj,
I'll be driving. Will be renting a car from Wolverhampton. I am planning for a 4 days 3 nights tour..Is that good enough? Question - Have you been to those places? Any recommendation on what to do/see will be helpful :) |
I am afraid no, I don't have that much of time. Its a 4D 3N plan
Any other recommendation for Durham? |
well - you may have less time than you think . . . generally 3 nights will net you 2 full days and maybe a little time on the 3rd day.
But maybe you have 3 full days -- depending on your plans after Edinburgh? Are you returning to Wolverhampton? flying out? or something else? With such a short time you probably would be better off taking trains. Wolverhampton to York to Durham to Edinburgh is a long drive - it would eat up almost a full day (about 9 hours) of your limited time - this would be easier/faster by train. |
Let the train take the strain, unless you have a load of kids in the car in which case let your other half do the driving. If on your tod then take the train. City to city so simple.

you know sometimes, you wish for an edit function...

Sometimes? Daily, my friend. Daily.

Thank you for the recommendation. I'll definitely take the train now :)
