Winter Packages for Prague available

If anyone is interested, both Austrian Air and Czech Airlines are offering air and hotel packages for winter travel, through March 31, 2005 with a few black out dates.
Air and Hotel start at $499pp, double occupancy. The Austrian package allows for a stopover in Vienna, with 3 nights in Prague. The Czech package is for six nights, and includes airport transfers and breakfast daily, and the number of nights can be reduced. There is a wide range of hotels available other than the most basic for the lowest price (which have iffy locations imo).

I've been doing some inquiries, and suggest that you speak to an actual 'holiday' agent, as the websites don't indicate as much flexibility as apparently there is.

Taxes extra? Where did you get the main details, elaine?

Yes, taxes extra, about $110 pp
I have done more investigating, and if a person wants only Prague, the better deal not surprisingly is via one of the agencies that Czech Airlines recommends.
Phone numbers in the US are 800 321 2999 and 800 346 6314. There is a third agency but they won't have their 2005 rates until the end of this Nov
800 247 1142. Of course, the lowest rate are for only one hotel and my friend and I are going to upgrade the hotel if we book this, so the package will be more, even tho' we want only 4 nights.

For Austrian Air, you can start at their website and do a lot of clicking around to get to their holiday packages, and then lookk for Prague.
It wasn't easy.

For Czech Airlines, you can do the same, but in both airlines' cases I found it easier to get information from a live person at one of their toll free numbers.
