Winter in Cinque Terra? and more advise on Italy
 

I will be in Italy from 14 Dec ~ 24 Dec. I would love to visit Cinque Terra but after doing some research, I am told that Cinque Terra is pretty dead during winter and sometime accompany by storms. Is it still advisable to go there during that time? I also realize that a lot of accomodation are closed during that period, any good suggestion?

I am still planning my 11 days Italy trip. I am thinking of spending 3 days in Rome, 2 days in Florence, 2 days in Venice, and 1 day in Siena. I am still pondering about remaining 2 days - shall I spend 1/2 day at Pisa, 1/2 day at Cinque Terra and 1 day at Milan? Or shall I skip Milan totally? If so, where should I go for the extra one day?

Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.

You're trying to visit FAR too many locations with a limited schedule. Reduce it to 2/3 locations and really explore them.

Don't bother going to the CT in the winter! I told a friend this and she went anyway. When she came home she said I was so right. Save it for another time when you can enjoy it, CJ

Also, You can visit Siena as a daytrip from Florence

Thus, Rome 5 days
Florence 3 days
Venice 3 days

I suggest that you fly into Rome and immediately train to Venice (about 4:30 hr from leaving Rome TE) and work your way back to Rome.

Even if you have your round trip Rome tickets you could look to see if you can connect on a flight Rome to Venice on your arrival date. Alitalia one way flights are usually not that expensive. Since you're already at the airport, to me it makes more sense to fly to Venice that taking a train.

Actually I am thinking of starting my trip in Rome and go all the way to Venice. I am planning to get a overnight night train back from Venice to Rome to catch the morning plan on 24 Dec. Is this feasible?

We were there last Christmas and it was actually pretty nice. It is dead but everything is still open. There are too many people in the summer. We had fun and really enjoyed the sights. I would skip milan, Pisa and the CT and do those on another trip. As others have said add another day to one of the cities.
