Wineries to visit while in the Greek islands

We would like to visit some wineries while in Greece. We only have 2 full days for this which means not enough time to travel to Santorni where I know there are a few. Any suggestions on other islands that have some good wines? Thanks ~

Travelling from where, Athens? If so why not consider Nemea, only a short distance away on the Peloponnese with very good wines, some regarded as the best in Greece!

With 2 days you could explore them fully, as well as some of the historic sites in the area, of which there are many.

Should you be based in Athens, here is a very good winery :
Harlaftis Athanassiadis Wines
http://www.harlaftis.gr/homeng.htm

They are based in Stamata, in Athens North, and they won some international awards.
I have been there for winetasting a long time ago and i enjoyed it.
Contact them, this is a winery that tourists don't know and hardly visit....

You may want to check also the following very interesting link :

Yiassas your recommendation is excellent.

Nemea is one of the best wineregions of Greece, and since it is on the way to Nafplion, you could combine both.

Thanks to all for the recommendations. I'll check them out.

Bobthenavigator - I can understand your priorities on things to see and do while in Greece. We just thought a visit to a local winery would be a nice break from history to learn about greek wines and see a different aspect of greece. And, a nice glass of wine is always a plus.

Hi,

I love the wineries at Nemea. They are beautiful and the wine is good. Also they are located near wondeful acient sites, so you can do two things at once.

Maybe Bob doesn't know, that there are excellent Greek wines, wining awards in major international fairs, especially from small producers..
Or it might be that Bob only likes beer.......

OK, OK--I will keep my stupid mouth shut.
I know there are some good wines, but there are so many unique aspects of Greece I see the wine as secondary.
