Wine Tour from Paris
We will be in Paris for several days in May and wondered if there's a bus tour to the wine country we could take from and return to Paris. Is the wine country close enough to make it in a one-day trip?

We were in PAris in Sept and took a train to Dijon and hopped on a connecting train to Beaune. There are several wine tasting's in the old caves. It is a quint little village. I didn't personally enjoy the wine, but many other peole seemed to enjoy it. Great day trip! We spent about 2 hours in Dijon and were home for dinner on Paris!

there is some wine country that is close enough for a day trip, in Burgundy. Aside from Beaune, you can get to Chablis area in a few hours, although that's not as easy without a car as they don't have a train station. I posted some URLs on this subject in reply to a Post on here sometime in past couple of years. I think I recommended www.chablis.net and www.ot-beaune.fr and www.ot-auxerre.fr (Auxerre is the closest city to Chablis with a train station, it's only about 5-10 mi, so an easy cab ride, I think). There is also the regional tourism office http://www.bourgogne-tourisme.com/ You could probably find prior post be searching on "chablis" or "auxerre"

oh, I forgot to say even though this seems a natural, I don't think any of the well-known bus tour companies do a tour of the nearby wine country (ie, Parisvision or Cityrama) You'd think it would be popular.

Alice,
If you are thinking about Burgandy, there is an American Ex-pat that runs a local tour company.

We found her site on the internet and went on a very interesting day tour a few years ago. (She met us in Dijon.) I believe her company is called "Wine and Voyages."

If she can't help you, she can certainly direct you to the right place.

Good luck!

Forgot to mention that we did it as a day trip from Paris. We took the TGV, roundtrip, to Dijon.
