Wine tour from Florence
Hi,
My wife and I will be in Florence for 3 days in September. On one of those days, we would like to do a wine tour in the region. We've looked online, but there are so many different options that we were hoping to get some advice from someone who has experience first hand. Are there any wine tours that you would recommend? Is there any city that we should focus on? Would you recommend booking a tour through a package or traveling ourselves by train and doing tours? Thanks in advance for the help. - Nick |
Wineries aren't near train stations in Tuscany, and bus timetables are oriented more to commuting workers and students, making it very difficult to use buses for a wine tour. You need reservations to visit most wineries, although there are tasting rooms open to the public in several towns.
If you can afford it, book a private driver. Luca at Hills and Roads gets many positive comments here. He'll make the appointments at the wineries. index |
The word "index" at the end of my post is actually a link to Hills and Roads. Just click on it.

I am looking for the same type of info. This is well reviewed on Trip Advisor :

Looks good, Denisea. I like that Sergio says his tours are not check lists.
