There is NO pressure at all to buy. In fact, it was almost an after thought towards the end.
My husband did add 20Euro for a tip- I think? Not sure. Oliver is VERY easy to talk with and a fairly young guy (30's I'd say). You can email him about booking the day of and I know he will get back to you. Depending on the time of year you go, it may not be a problem. All in all, the class is very laid back. Enjoy. |
Thanks, that helps. I think I may email. I just don't know what my schedule in Paris will be. I like to be flexible; don't usually book anything ahead.

I agree with InSicily - absolutely no pressure to buy. But Olivier does have some good and reasonably priced bottles if you're interested. As for phoning the day of, I just don't know. I would email Olivier a little before you leave and ask how the week looks.

When we were in Germany, we went to a Wine Institute (can't remember the name of the small town) and for 20E we could have tasted 150 wines. Is there such a set up in France?

What town was the wine institute in? Looking to go back to Germany this Fall. Thanks.
|
The Institute was in Bernkastel-Kues on the Mosel River at the junction of 50 and 53. Hopefully google can help you out with the specifics. We really enjoyed ourselves. Like I said, we each paid 20 euro and received a wine glass and limitless time in the cellars. We were absolutely amazed at the number of excellent white wines, many costing 5 euro per bottle or less. If you go, do enjoy!
