wine fromI taly
Is it worth it to bring wine back from Italy? I love Italian wine but worth the dollar Vs. euro ? Should I even consider it?
The main issue for me pre-trip is should I bring a bigger suitcase to bring things home! |
I would bring back a case of wine that you really like. They make special cartons to put in with your checked baggage.
If you get stopped by customs, chances they will not stop you, the duty on still wine is peanuts. ((b)) |

Ssorry, I didn't really focus on the question of luggage and getting it home. I do not take a bigger suitcase.
Here are details of my method on another thread... http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34422344 |
I enjoy Italian wine and have a wine cellar at home. I drank my share of wine in Italy.
However, instead of bringing back wine, I brought back olive oil. |
We've brought back a case of wine from Australia, Chile & France. In our case, we had handles put on the case, & my husband carried it on board (his carry-on.) He complains only a little bit, but he also hates carrying anything. You might also want to consider bringing something back which is more difficult to find here -- limoncella, perhaps?
