MM, in honor of your little compliment on another post, I'll respond here...

I don't have a Goyard bag, ashamed to say I haven't seen one lately. When traveling in Germany and Austria, I take my red Safiano bag by Goldpfeil that I bought in Baden-Baden. Usually gets approving looks in those countries. I really like it, but it does remind me of the bag that the purple character carried in Teletubbies, so we dubbed it TinkyWinky. Whenever we go out someplace nice for dinner, DH always asks, "are you taking TinkyWinky along?" (although I also have a handsome Delvaux bag, the Georges model, but he only goes out for really special occasions). TinkyWinky is coming with me to Vienna and Dresden in March.

I really like the bag collection from Bally this year. They got a new Italian designer and he has been doing some pretty nifty things. We trolled their main Paris store a couple of months ago and found several things we wouldn't mind owning. I have to get down to London and see if the bag I liked best has gone on sale.

Oh, Marge,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I've been busy doing les soldes. Things are hectic here, so I must send my regrets for your kind invitation, but rest assured that whenever traffic or Walmart come up in conversation, you will be in my thoughts.

I must confess, however, that I am not familiar with Walmart. Perhaps it is time for me to make a trip to your part of the world. Clearly you seem to be familiar with her/him/it. Is this your new pet designer? Smocks -- how original. Unfortunately, I don't think smocks are my style -- too thin, you know.

However, dear, I must admit that I am a bit concerned. You have it in you to be funny, but Joan Rivers is so 20th Century. I would recommend a couple of Pamprin, some good chocolate and your latest "W." Everything will look brighter in a couple of days.

You must be having a bad day.

Although I would never spend serious money on a handbag and hardly consider myself a fashionista, that Vietnam thread makes me want to throw up, so...

I bought myself some Fiorentini and Baker boots right before Christmas. I love them so much I wear them every day and talk to them and tell them how special they are.

They are handmade in Bologna, right? Not factory stitched by 5 year olds in Malaysia (I hope)?

I think we all appreciate nice things, Leely. I know I do. What I object to is Marge's snide catty comments that display no knowledge of fashion, but, rather, are an opportunity to drop names.

"Did anyone get a new fur coat for Christmas?????"

As a matter of fact I did. But a trip to the electrologist and I was able to get rid of it.

Thanks for asking.

I did just purchase a nylon Prada tote bag to take to London/Paris. Lightweight and study, but this one has special leather hardware so it can be "dressed up" and dressed down. It also has little feet and can zip closed!

I was tired of carrying 2 bags everywhere with my stuff and then my son's stuff.

I had the saleslady at the Soho store on a treasure hunt as they were "sold out", but luckily had recently 1 more.

My little gift to myself after bonus!

My what? "Goyard Comores" sounds like a disease to me. Now I know to avoid any threads on fashion and/or accessories, as I am not fit to comment.

You probably know as much about it as the OP.

I wear fur, eat foie gras, hire illegal aliens to mow my lawn, litter, and don't compost.

I throw my old gin bottles at children.

I am an non-politically correct homosexual.

Marge? How 1957.

Alas, if only I weren't a politically-correct heterosexual, Maggie, it might be a perfect match!

Children are very bad drinking companions; they rarely have credit cards on them to help pay a hefty bar tab.

True, but they can't hold their liquor and when they keel over they make very nice footrests.

I wear fur while eating steak and drinking gin, so there...

But sadly, I am still shoeless, having been unsuccessful in finding a pair of suitable walking shoes for cities.
