Will it rain today?
Real-time radar reports of rain over the UK in the preceding couple of hours - at least gives you an idea of what the weather's doing (if your internet access is always on):
http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ BTW, our rain isn't actually orange. Yet. |
I thought the answer is Yes 100% of the time; so why bother with a website? ;)
|
I thought the question was: When will it rain today?

The site for the Netherlands and Belgium is www.buienradar.nl. For most of France, Germany, Benelux and UK there is also www.meteox.co.uk, which allows a 3 hour forecast of rain, and a worldwide 14 day forecast of the weather. I am glad I am not going to be in Chicago or Boston next week :)
|
Why, what's happening in Boston? Should I leave?
|
It's pouring rain in Louisville, KY. Wish I were in London.
|
Nikki - weatherwise, the next few days in Chicago are looking a bit stormy. I'm not sure about next week.

What I love about BBC weather is that there is no weather in Ireland, it is always just a grey blob below northern Ireland.
|
Imagine the rumpus if the BBC started pontificating about the weather south of the border, though. If pontificating is the word.
|
"...What I love about BBC weather is that there is no weather in Ireland, it is always just a grey blob below northern Ireland...."
And why should that come as a surprise? The BBC is quite rightly providing a weather forecast to its British licence-payers, not the eavesdroppers in neighbouring countries. |
Nikki, it is weather you are used to in Boston, but for us it would be cold next week (-6C daytime high). Not that it will be a whole lot warmer here (-1C daytime high).
But even that is better than the miserable grey drizzle we've had for the last week or so. I just saw -14C daytime high for Abilene today. I never knew Texas got so cold. You learn something new every day :) |
Wouldn't it more accurately represent the weather if the entire British Isles were a grey blob?
|
It's not always raining you know. Sometimes we have fog.
|
it's not raining here in Cornwall today - not a drop.
rien. nada. nichts. I did a bit of work in the garden. in the sunshine. in December. |
>>Wouldn't it more accurately represent the weather if the entire British Isles were a grey blob?<<
Oh no. It's a source of endless excitement, I assure you. That's why we listen to the Shipping Forecast (though some may have other reasons: one of the sultrier-voiced female announcers who used to read the midnight forecast apparently got a request from a male listener to slow down a bit towards the end). |
don't the High Street bookies take bets on English weather? This may put a damper on that action?
when you look at the total amount of rain in say London for a year i think it may not be that much more than in say Rome - just that they get a little bit a whole lot more |
