will 150 euros get me a 4 or 5 star hotel in paris?
My spouse and I usually stay in 5 star hotels when vacationing. Usually we just take a single room that is around 300 euros. Still, this time we cannot do that becuase we will take our kids with us (9 and 14 year old boys). Therefore instead of spending 300 euris in one room we would like to spend it getting 2 rooms. Can we still stay in nice hotels in Paris?

In what city in the world could you get two rooms in a 5-star hotel for 150 euro each? You are nuts, not to mention your loaded terms of "nice hotel", by which I gather you mean 5-star. I guess you'll have to sleep with the riff-raff in the not-so-nice 3-4 stars (you can get 4-star hotels for that price in low season and/or some specials, especially large chain ones that go with packages or those in less central areas).

Hi barb
Do a search here for hotel Palais Bourbon. It has been often praised as especially good for families.

By the way, officially hotel stars (which reflect government ratings) in France go up to 4 stars, not five.
Within each level there is a lot of variation because the stars reflect minimum requirements.

I have a file on Paris; if you'd like to see it, email me.

Here's an alternative to two rooms - the Residence des Arts has suites for around the same price (300 euro) - I haven't stayed there but it gets good reviews on this site.

http://www.arts-residence-paris.com/index.html
