WiFi in Madrid?

How easy is it to get WiFi connections in Madrid?
I'm worried about running up cell phone bills.
Thanks

Free WiFi all over Madrid, including hotels-- for sure Starbucks, McDs, BK, etc...

All half-way decent hotels have free wi-fi. We shut off data roaming on our smartphones abroad.
