WHY? WHY? WHY?

Why do so many people on this forum love to chat about all the negitive issues in Europe? Are we so perfect?

What, exactly, is it your are trying to start? Folks are free to discuss whatever they like, although this forum is for travel-related issues.
Have you happened to notice that there are a few people here that also love to talk about great things in Europe? I think people generally point out differences among countries and cultures, not to proclaim "our" perfection, but only to point out differences. In this forum I find the positive outweighs the negative, in terms of issues and attitudes.

Some of the more thought provoking observations are analytical in nature.
A few are "gripe sessions", but the level of perceptive discussions that I often find here are stimulating.
1) I believe that in general people are more prone to make an effort to express a negative opinion than a positive one, partly because it is a means of venting frustration. A positive notion doesn't "stick in the craw" and yearn to be turned loose like a negative one...though sharing a positive is certainly pleasurable.
2) Negative newsworthy information seems to garner more attention than positive info, if the media's bias toward reporting negative news is a reliable indicator. Since they spend large amounts of money canvassing and modifying their casts to maximize audience retention, I'd bet this is more than a coincidence.
3) There is a tremendous amount of positive info/favorable opinions shared in this forum...perhaps because many are discussing something they are passionate about and greatly enjoy.
4) What is it that prompted this post?

We love to chat about all the negative issues because we think we are perfect. Thank you for bringing it to our attention so we can all change our evil ways, baby...
