Why not Lake Garda? Curious...
 

Lake Garda looks beautiful, is there little to do there? I'm open to suggestions and reasoning why I should perhaps focus on other cities for more days. I would certainly like to lower the amount of times I will be packing/unpacking.

Hi Natalie, I'm one of the fans of Garda on this board. My daughters and neices also really enjoyed the time we spent there. We stayed in Sirmione, which is one of the more popular towns, easily reached by train between Venice and Florence. It is unique in that it has a castle and is mostly pedestrian. It's filled with shops, restaurants and gelato stands. There is a great archeological ruin (Catullus baths) on the tip of the penninsula. You can take boats from Sirmione to visit other towns on the lake.

In my view, it's a nice counterpoint to the other places you'll be visiting in Italy. Personally, I think your trip has a good blend of relaxing and cities.

Garda is wonderful, as are 72 other locations in Italy. It is all about time and logistics.

I'm another one of the fans of Garda.
I`ve been three times and would go again! I stayed at Malchesine a little over half way up on the east side.
A lovley village with harbour and a castle.
Great trips by ferry to other places on the lake (Limone was lovley)
Therre is a cable car in the village which takes you up Monte baldo a brilliant trip. When up on top you can walk the paths and enjoy stunning views of the lake and the Italian Dolomites.
I went to Austria on a day trip also Venice,Verona and a visit to the wineries.
I found so much to do and if not busy chilling by the lake was O.K. to.

I'll just echo Bobthenavigator. Too many destinations in too short a time. Hopefully, you'll return to Italy again and again.
