Our whole system is messed up. we don't need to graduate masses of people to go to college. We got way more art history and english majors than we need. Give us more tech weenies and brick masons!

Maybe this posting - or another - could have been titled "why is it so hard for Americans to learn their OWN language?" Having read 100s (1000s?) of Fodor postings over the past few years and even excluding typos, it is - what word should I use here? - depressing? appalling? to see how native-born Americans can massacre their own language, spelling and grammar.
