Funny, my friend and I had said the exact same thing about CDG.

We were flying out of T1 to BCN. When we checked in (1 1/2 hrs before our flight) they told us the security lines were long, so go straight to them. So we did, when we got through security, we were in this small area with only a few gates. We were shocked to find there were no restroom or duty free shops. They told us to use the restroom we'd have to go back through security. I was also really looking forward to the duty free shopping. That soured our CDG experience.

re: site that rates best and worst airports

That's not 3rd and 9th-- the list of 9 is in alphabetical order.

I missed that Fifi. LOL

The laugh to me was that he was rating them on the basis of "how they were for sleeping in".

You mean someone is trolling around Fodors? I am SHOCKED.

Wow...I wasn't expecting to be mocked for wanting to do some duty free shopping. Since we were doing carry on only, duty free is the only way to get any French liquor home. So yes, it was a bit of a hardship.

aimeekm, there's no duty free shopping between France & Spain. They are both members of the EU

Hmmm...but I was able to shop in MAD....headed for CDG, just a few days before?

There is shopping (lots) - just not duty free shopping . . .
