Why do you travel?

So you enjoy traveling. But why?

Elverna Nov 22nd, 2002 09:09 PM

To get away from you.

Reason #1: I have the travel bug (first European trip at age 1)

Reason #2:When my Dad died I told myself that I wouldn't procrastinate on things I enjoy

Reason #3: I like the sense of excitement in going to places I have not been to before and seeing how things are different(buildings, art , food and the local people

#4 The reason I travel is to see what is out there.

Two main reasons:

To Europe because I love the art, architecture, culture, and history. I've lived in Europe, but actually find being a tourist allows me more opportunity to see the sights I missed while working and I seem to appreicate it more when I go now.

Reason 2 is to get a "sun break" during the rainy season here at which time my destination is usually a relaxed beach type place like Hawaii or the Caribbean.

I love reasearching the trips almost as much as going on them which is why I check into this website often--it's a great source of information.

To get away from the daily hassles and see/do something different.

Why do we travel?
1. To escape the daily grind (work, dusting, etc.)
2. For the THRILL for a new adventure, different foods, new wine.
3. To see historical and cultural sites that have intrigued me in novels or movies.
4. To spend time with each other, and to have memories that only include each other.
5. 'Cause I just can't help myself anymore!!! I have to travel!!

To improve my mind. To see how the rest of the world lives. To learn about other cultures. To eat other foods. To learn other languages. To avoid being a country bumpkin.
