Yes, it should have but it didn't. Didn't work for me either when I previewed.

I was just about to offer everyone here a few "Good mornings" when I remembered the Viagra commercial with that fat old geezer chirping along the street offering several "good mornings" to everyone he meets. So never mind.

Madgicsh - I was recently voted best looking Canadian north of 89 degrees latitude.

Speaking of communication this heard yesterday:
Passenger: Have a good day.
Bus driver: No, not likely.

there's nothing like the american
how are you today? ( which sounds bit funny to my non american ears - since they just met me, they didn't know me since yesterday)...
But regardless ofit is a good morning, a hi, or a how are you today, one should always be polite and return the good morning...

Geez it turns out that the Viagra good morning commercial was made in Canada. I guess Americans couldn't relate to a happy fella saying good morning to everyone:

Sorry colduphere, I'm probably not even the best looking Rottweiler owner in our village of 300 ;-)

Are you the ONLY Canadian north of 89 degrees? (Just checking, Eh!)

I'm a Queenslander by birth, my husband never ceases to remind me that we say Eh too!

Isn't this all a great excuse for a joke - if you're not logos! Is he for real or just someone stirring up trouble?

Is your way of life just trouble? Or do you have a message about yourself? Rottweiler or smart? That would be interesting. What koind of person are you? Or are you a "smart Rottweiler" (if that does exist?)

I am a lifelong Chicagoan and I'm perturbed by Northerners' habit of not greeting nor taking leave. The South is much friendlier. People are highly independent and won't talk to you unless they have to or see a benefit to them. There's a embarrassing emphasis on "keeping it real". Makes me ashamed to be from the US, really. I greet people and I do notice when people ignore me. It saddens me. People's responses below where they defend their right to not greet also sadden me. I was born in the wrong city and wrong country. And, in Mexico, strangers say "buen provecho" to others in restaurants no matter what point people are at in their meals. Young people of Latin American backgrounds here tend to be much more polite than their US counterparts.

That's what I thought janis.

Polite is different everywhere you go. Expecting strangers to talk to you in some places is just rude, they're busy and can't be bothered with a long drawn out tale of Auntie Mrytle's plum jam.

I like the custom of greeting people at breakfast too, but I like to do what is correct in every situation.

Judging people as rude for doing what they do is pretty darn rude.

So somebody registered to "post that." What's your big problem with this and what IS this thing about having to know when somebody registered as if somebody NEW cannot possibly have a valid opinion on something? Talk about rude.

Dukey1: Think about it. What would one have to google to locate this thread. Since it is so old, it wouldn't be found any other way. So my question was valid IMO.

Maybe I should have ditched the two extra '??' - but otherwise . . .

It wasn't that they registered to post this, it's that they dug it up. Why not just start a new one?

Why is it that the knee-jerk reaction of Americans to criticism is to suggest that the person expressing the criticism leave the country? Is it so difficult to accept that not everyone thinks the whole country and all its inhabitants are perfect?

I don't know, but I have a couple of aquaintances who are transplants to CA and complain about CA at every opportunity - the politics, the people, the taxes, etc. - and I must admit that I often wonder why the heck they moved here in the first place and why they don't move somewhere else if they hate it this badly.
