I'm not there now, but I will be in a few weeks. So I sure hope it warms up there. If it's cold when I get there that will be wierd for me. I always go on vacation in summer, or when I have gone in winter I've always gone somewhere warm.

I received that e-mail while I was in Europe and so I thought it was pretty funny, from that perspective.

I'll tell you one thing, that catchy title made me open that Hotmail message even before I saw who it was from. That's just the kind of thing one of my friends or family would write to me! (yes, Judyrem, I thought it was a bit cheeky of them, especially since they weren't treating.)

I have to agree with RufusTfirefly...Europe is nice to visit now & then, its only one part of the world, and there is so much more to see, other than Europe.
One reason I tend not visit Europe, is because of the crowds in summer, queues, and because I can swim & wear summer clothing all year round, where I now live in Qld, Australia. We have a lot of Europeans, including the Brits, who just don't want to return home, I must say I can't blame, poor buggers returning back to grey skies and cold winters.

Have been on trips 3 long weekends in Feb., to Florida, Costa Rica, and a Lenten retreat in north Ga. mountains. I'm too tired to be in Europe! We are staying put the entire month of March and working every Saturday (homeschool) to make up for the days we missed last month. Child is now campaigning for a trip to Japan/anime convention. Not sure if I can stand it, but that may be our next big trip after Mexico.

I AM here!

Actually, I love travelling further afield, but what I most love about Europe is the immense variety of cultures packed into such a small space. You can never get bored in Europe. So whether I stay in my home country, or move to another, I think my home will always be SOMEWHERE in Europe. Budget flights help to make the most of it!

Kate you hit it on the nose! I love being able to hop over to spain or Edingurgh so easily. I am happiest in Europe and we are starting to think about the possiblity of buying a place in another country to eventually settle in, though this may be a few years off.

Because Canada is still among the best places in the world to live.

But right now I would rather be in a little skirt and a tanktop somewhere tropical....

I have lived in Eastern Europe and it had advantages and disadvantages. When you are on vacation though you always wear rose-coloured glasses

Because I'm still trying to convince the DH to MOVE to the UK... he's a tough nut to crack on the subject!

AND because past trips and other indulgences have left us with some debt that needs to be paid off first

Cailin,
You should beat France ..they are easy to beat.
It appears I will be in a pub in Cardiff center for the Ireland game, with the other 40000 people can't get a ticket...not got a spare have you?

;-)

'fraid not - we just have our two & I wouldn't sell those for a million!

even if we don't beat France it'll still be a triple crown game...so the atmosphere should be great no matter what! A Grand Slam decider would be fab though!

see you in the pub afterwards

LOL, madison, your remark was classic. I have this image of folks in bathrobes, gnawing on bonbons, constantly researching trips.
