Perhaps a clue: His last words were Auf Wiedersehen.

BigAleinstein Jul 4th, 2013 07:43 AM

His trip report will be in 14 parts-one for each city.

"Who thinks I can hit 5 countries and 10 cities in 14 day"

Not and feat and you have a long way to go, I hit 5 in just one day.
Left my home in Southern France and flew from Girona, Spain, to Charleroi, Belgium. My friends picked me up at the airport and drove me to their place in France via Luxemburg. We drove through Schengen to a roundabout appropriately called "three borders". Took a right turn and we were in Germany....... :-))

BigAleinstein Jul 4th, 2013 08:19 AM

We have been in three countries on one day many times. A flight, a transfer, and to our home country. Trip report forthcoming but it is mainly about a cart with inedible food blocking the aisle.

FWIW, when our feet and stamina were great, my dear departed hub and I visited 18 Italian cities in 14 days via a first class train ticket. This was before we had learned ANYTHING about trains needing reservations. We based in Venice (flew into), Pisa, Verona and Rome (flew out of).

Since several of the towns were 1/2-day trips, and we weren't losing time changing hotels, we felt like we got enough of a taste. When we liked something, we could stay longer or return on another trip. We based in the larger and/or more touristy places to have lots to do in the evenings.

EuroFred, I too want to read your travel report!

hetismij2 Jul 4th, 2013 08:56 AM

Give him(?) a chance. He only got home 4 days ago. He's probably still catching his breath.

janisj Jul 4th, 2013 09:02 AM

Naw - I still think he's dead and buried - murdered by mutinous relatives.

But honestly - I do hope he comes back and reports . . .

TDudette Jul 4th, 2013 12:53 PM

Agree with you janisj!

Why do you want the opinions of fodorites if you have already set this trip up?

wanttogo - he's been and gone. the trip is over. Finished.

with what results we have yet to discover.

Momddtravel2 Jul 4th, 2013 02:08 PM

I want to read this tip report...

BigAleinstein Jul 4th, 2013 02:12 PM

The people who want a trip report are the same ones who are amused by the Kardahians.

nukesafe Jul 4th, 2013 02:22 PM

Judgemental and insulting, Big Al! Play nice or not at all.

BigAleinstein Jul 4th, 2013 02:46 PM

The thinnest of skins. I guess people can insult the OP with impunity but to equate trip reports and the Kardashians is a sacrilege.

Momddtravel2 Jul 4th, 2013 02:55 PM

Ouch big al.. Have never seen a show of the karsdasins & don't even read tabloid magazines..

BigAleinstein Jul 4th, 2013 03:14 PM

OK, I'm sorry. Reading it would like craning your neck to see the results of a car crash.

bobthenavigator Jul 4th, 2013 03:31 PM

IMHO, there never was a trip---Fred has been laughing at us.
