These posts made me laugh! What are you guys drinking? I have to catch up with you.

Franco's information has been most helpful to me as I planned my upcoming trip, especially the Venice part, and I thank him for taking the time to post all his information.

Anyway, thinking of Franco made me think of Vincenzo who used to post here a while back - maybe several years ago. I remember writing about Massa Lubrense, one of my favorite places, and he said he lived nearby. Does Vincenzo post here anymore?

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

FainaAgain, I had a gin and tonic before dinner and had two glasses of wine with dinner. What am I doing wrong?

Franco and Vincenzo ?
Mud fighting Faina and black snakes and sailing off in rubber boats?
Hmmm

You are supposed to sip wine slowly, watching the sunset. Then you'll be ready for Fodorite's philosophy (or craziness, which is close )

Just don't sail off into sunset in a rubber boat, LOL

Funny story about Franco: I knew a Spaniard that everyone called Franquito who called his. . . Franco. Never got to find out if it was true or not, but I was frankly interested.

Diablo- Thanks so much for clearing that up! Chef Franco of BOY R DEE fame, of course! No wonder all this talk about truffles in Umbria, (EVERYONE knows about truffles in Piedmont!) that's all just a cover to introduce his new BOY R DEE line of "low carb" "tomato" sauce-1 part corn syrup, 2 parts cane sugar, 2 tsp. tomato sauce...Brilliant!

Is Franco a nickname, the full name would be Francisco? As in San Francisco, CA - and this is where I live!
