Yeah I have to agree with Jean Reno. He is ion a really cute ad for UPS over here playing himself talking to himself as a baby. He has Cchatrisma or that x quality.
Erin - I was never into Gabriel Byrne until I saw him walking down the street in Dublin. He is very handsome in person and we caught my eyes. He has beautiful eyes!
Colin farrell according to my friend looks like the great unwashed in person and appears scruffy. He took our seats after we left the pub this past New Years in Dublin. She just does not get it and felt he looked worse than a lot of the o0ther men in the pub...the other friend with her went weak at the knees...I don't get him

Just plain fun to look at ... the Italians, you bet. How I dig Roman noses and black eyes. I'm 5'1" so height is not an issue.
I dig Colin Farrell when he's not in scruffy mode. He cleans up nicely, and he's got that naughty twinkle in his eye. Rwwrrr.
This is a fun thread. (Giggle.)

I wonder how long the men could get away with similar thoughts here ... extolling the attractions of all the hot European babes they can think of ... before the thread got pulled amid a stream of "sexist" accusations?

Only read so far on this old one- BUT don't you know- there is ANOTHER side to Italian man AFTER you marry them. Boy do I know!
And that goes for Italian-American men as well. And of course I don't need to list the postitives as they are obvious. And not just the Italians, but other Latin/Mediterranean cultures have a dynamic in their belief system that also puts all the RULES/OBLIGATIONS on you, ladies.
Fun in the prelims but not in the long race.
Give me a good ole American boy anyday.

If your idea of "more masculine" includes rude and rough behavior, burping loudly, using foul language in front of others -- particularly women, and not having great manners, then yes, American men do tend to be more masculine than European men. Those are all traits which seem to be almost revered in the US but are strongly discouraged among polite European society.

Hmmm, wouldn't the sexiest man (or woman for that matter) have to be the one who is crazy about you -- and who you are crazy about as well? Nothing like wanted attention to make your toes curl...
So my answer has to be Spanish, Spanish, Spanish, due to a certain much younger Spanish hottie who has reminded me that, yes, there are some fabulous, intelligent, funny and passionate men out there.
Now, if Madrid was just a little closer! Thank god for email and long vacations.

"Was once engaged to a football player and realized I needed more out of life especially since I loath "macho" sports. Other boyfirends were really into their cars, surfing, partying and then there was this one sweet, yet very nerdy engineer while I was away at school. He turned out to be gay. Hope I did not have anything to do with that."
CALAMARI: Oh my God, you are sooooo funny!!! And we think exactly the same way about men! I love my Italian-cutie husband also.
And yes, I have seen gorgeous, tall men in Italy. A couple from the Torino region who speak atleast three languages (Italian, French and English)...swoon!...and this hottie from Capri with the kind of deep blue eyes you drown in. Viva Italia!

Just had dinner with some Italian friends last night, and one was from Ravello and is over six feet tall, another who is from Capri is over six feet too.
But I think a majority of the men in Italy are not tall, but still handsome, both in looks and manners.

Hallo to all that nice women, from an Italian man.
Nice to see that italian men are so appreciated, even if it seems that there are some steretypes.
For example the medium height of men between 15 and 35 years in Italy is 176.1 cm (5 ft 9.3 inches), which is even a few more than USA statitics for adult males (175.5) so if you are in this age you won't find great differences in height between americans and italians.
I also think that there is a few of stereotype in the idea that Italians are always well dressed, cured, some kind of casanova ...
Maybe we have more attention for our woman, but it depends from man to man, i say and also from woman to woman
Don't know very weel american women, indeed I have met only a few in the past, but are you sure that if you come o europe things are different. I mean Are you sure that you have no part in the process if your men are not so sweet and passionate?
It a statistical issue, obvious, I know many o fyou are sweet and passionatefor sure.

Kisses,
Dino

I agree with Patrick 100%..
(includes rude and rough behavior, burping loudly, using foul language in front of others" -
When I first came to America I was shocked to see the lack of manners that many men displayed, even when women were present.
Of course, not all the men act this way.
American men are more muscular than than the European, but muscles does not make a man more masculine...
.
It is hard to choose..Every country has a certain amount of men that are very sexy.
The Italian men have a certain savoir faire with women and when you are with them, they make you feel like you are a goddess, of course until the next skirt pass by..

I am sorry but when you say that Italians are kinda short, are you referring to those Americans who have their great grand father from south of Italy? Nowadays, Italian men are 6.0 feet tall as average..some of the immigrants from south were short because of the Arabic and Spanish domination who colonized south of Italy for more than one century..
Best Regards and have a good one

I really don;t understand the point of this at all.
However, to be accurate Italian men between the ages of 18 and 40 average 5'9". The only place in europe you will find men averaging 6 feet or more in height is the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
(And the average male height in the US isn;t 6' either - due to the huge mix of races/national origins. For many decades americans of any background were taller than residents of any specific country of origin - but that was a function of better nutrition in childhood - and hasn;t really been true of people born in the first world since WWII.)
