White towns near Ronda, Spain

Hello Fodorites,

Which white towns/villages are worth visiting in and around Ronda. Read somewhere about Zahara. Kindly let me know what i may be missing out.

Thanks for your time and any feedback.

Zahara was nice. Nearby is Grazalema. This gallery has those two (plus Ronda) and a couple other white towns I visited on that trip. https://andiamo.zenfolio.com/p424622511

Do not endeavor to see many white towns, there is a sameness to them

I wouldn't make a huge effort to visit them. Big meh IMO, at least after you've seen the first one.

In my view, the white hill towns are things to be seen from a distance, on your way somewhere else. The architecture is like what you'll see in sections of Sevilla, Granada, or Cordoba, which have things worth seeing in depth. It's the situation of these hill towns that is interesting. String together a couple or three on your way from one place to another, if convenient. Unless you want to hike in areas around these towns, they don't really merit an overnight stay.

Setenil de las Bodegas is interesting too, can be a stop on the way to/from Granada.
And Arcos de la Frontera is really worth a couple hours' stroll: a Ronda-Zahara-Arcos-Grazalema-Ronda is a lovely day trip. Not only for the towns but also for the scenery in-between.
